About Me

Lynn Thibeau, MBA, AFC® (she/her/hers)

My Story

My siblings and I were raised to make sure we could always make it on our own, so we could be prepared for anything life might throw our way. And in the many (unplanned) years of making it on my own, there have certainly been some financially and emotionally challenging times, but I have always been able to support myself without worry, thanks to the skills my parents taught me, life experience, education, and the knowledge I gained while working in the financial industry.

My time in the financial industry: The first time I talked with a financial advisor (I was 25, he was probably around 50), he was condescending and dismissive to me as his prospective client and I felt intimidated. I left the meeting feeling disrespected and with questions still unanswered. So, I did what any rational woman would do (right?), I got a Masters degree in Finance and became a financial advisor myself. I worked for 12 years in the financial industry based out of the Bangor, Maine area, and my intent was to always treat clients the way I would want to be treated: with honesty, respect, compassion, clear communication in easy-to-understand language, and a bit of gentle humor. To genuinely care for clients as human beings, and not treat them as an account number or an account size. To put the best interest of my clients first.

Personal Life: I was incredibly fortunate to grow up on a potato farm in gorgeous Aroostook County (which I love and still miss dearly). In my free time I enjoy teaching piano lessons, dancing, cooking, reading, laughing with family and friends, and ‘defending the funk’ with my favorite band, Motor Booty Affair.

One of the potato fields that’s been in our family for 5 generations.
